Al-Husain Al Qabtan Aquilaria Cumingiana — Another aquilaria species I never came across before. The fruitiness is different to a Philippino or Silani ouds which are more yellow fruitiness. This one is more plum and berries!The incense process an addictive quality. I was surprised when I smelled it. Now it makes me wonder how the oud oil smells!Hopefully I will buy the Malay Royal Hirta in the future :) Al-Husain Al Qabtan Citrus coffee — I have the oud oil which smells cool minty and very floral with a hint of coffee, one of my favorite oils!The oud chip itself smells sweet floral citrus like ripe mandarin, bright and lovely with slight dark coffee note Al-Husain Al Qabtan The province! — Super woody with earthy undertone, reminds me of ripe Puerh Chinese tea with the notes old leaf and burnt caramel and dry prunesReminders me of the smell of something woody burning in the distant farms in a rural area Al-Husain Al Qabtan Dark honey! — Instantly I smell the dark honey, just like the desert acacia tree honey that grows in Oman! Magnifique expérience olfactive. Ce oud est une pépite, à la fois complexe et très évolutif : il démarre avec un caractère puissant pour finir sur une douceur sucrée et florale. Perso je le mets dans mon top 3, une pièce maîtresse à avoir dans sa collection si on aime les ouds profonds et sophistiqués.
Pour les amoureux des ouds indiens : foncez, vous y trouverez votre bonheur. Un oud puissant, animalic, épicé, avec une projection et un sillage impressionnants. Lorsque mon épouse l’a senti après plusieurs heures, elle a été impressionnée par sa douceur boiséee et légèrement fruitée. Merci au vendeur de nous proposer des pièces aussi qualitatives.
Un très beau oud, complexe, épicé, aussi animalic. Après quelques heures, il s’adoucit pour laisser place à des notes fruitées et sirupeuses. Un must have pour les amoureux du oud, je suis tellement content de l’avoir dans ma collection 🙂
La claque que j’ai reçue en sentant ce oud, pfiou je ne suis pas prêt de l’oublier.
J’ai commandé pas mal de pièces ces derniers jours, celle-ci est ma préférée avec l’ambre gris. Un véritable bijou de la nature. On n’est pas sur un oud animalic, mais plutôt sur un oud très fumé, avec des notes d’encens, de cacao fumé, boisées et cuirées. J’ai aussi été frappé par la façon dont les notes s’associent entre elles, parfaitement équilibrées.
Je me surprends à le sentir plusieurs fois dans la journée. Un oud addictif, puissant, majestueux, noble, et surtout, fascinant.
En discutant avec le vendeur, il me disait que la particularité de ce oud est de retranscrire l’expérience olfactive d’un bois de oud que l’on fait brûler. Il a dit vrai : on y retrouve cette dimension fumée, boisée et sucrée, comme si l’encens se diffusait à même la peau, tout en étant subtil. La texture est épaisse et visqueuse, bien plus que les autres ouds de ma collection, une pièce unique, une odeur addictive…
